Cause

Friends of the Mindemoya Old School located on Manitoulin Island, Ontario, saved this historic building built in 1921 from demolition. This remarkably preserved building was originally built for the purpose of consolidating smaller rural schools and providing education beyond grade eight. FOMOS will repurpose this historical building into a seniors active living centre as well as an artist /artisan hub. Once completed, the project will provide essential resources needed within this rural community.
